If you’ve tested another app such the one created by Lissi or iGrant, then please take some time to try out ID wallet by Validated ID.

Please go to where you would usually download applications on your phone, and download the following wallet:

Once you have downloaded the wallet, you may be prompted to enter personal information. For this pilot we will be using dummy data which is available to access through the next stage.

As before, you will not be asked to provide any personal information. Instead, you will again imagine that you are…

You need to load your new digital wallet with your – Hanna’s – details, such as her:

  1. PID (short for: Personal Identification Data)
    This provides basic digital identity data, it’s issued by the government and includes details like full name and date of birth.
  2. PhotoID
    Contains all Passport attributes including ID picture.
  3. Personal Contact Details
    Covers contact details like address, phone number and email.
  4. Student ID
    Information about the attended school and the person’s Student ID.

These types of details are what companies are referring to when mentioning “credentials”.

In time, these will be made available by local government or similar agencies, so that you can store and share these through your new Digital Wallet.

 

How to set it up:

  1. When prompted, pleasure ensure you click on ‘Allow‘ to enable notifications or you will be unable to create your wallet.
  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Choose whether you would prefer to access your wallet using FaceID (‘Biometrics’) or a passcode.
  4. When prompted for the wallet to access your camera, please click ‘Ok’.
  5. Next step is to add credentials to the Data Wallet, tap the ‘Scan’ button in the bottom centre of the screen to open the camera.
  6. Click on the button below (‘Get credentials here’) which will issue fictional credentials for Hanna. You will have 4 QR codes to scan.
  1. Each time you scan, input the code 1234 into the App.
  2. After the last credential, you should be redirected to the Benidorm Experience to test the wallet out.

Note: Post-launch, citizens will obtain their credentials over a period of time rather than downloading them all at once as is the case in this test. The real convenience will come through frequent use of pre-obtained credentials in situations like the Benidorm experience you are about to complete.
